Employee Highlight: Customer Service Representative Pat Wills

Hinkle Block & Masonry’s Pat Wills likes the term “customer service representative” a lot better than “sales representative”.  “Providing customer service is what I do,” Pat said.  “Actually, it’s what we all do here at Hinkle Block.  Everyone here is involved in serving our customers’ needs in some way or another. From administration to production to delivery and everyone in between, we all work for our customers. That’s why so many of our customers refer their friends and acquaintances to us.  I can’t tell you how times a new customer has said ‘I heard from so and so that you guys do a great job’, and these days that means a lot.”

Pat said that it’s the family atmosphere at Hinkle Block that makes it easy to provide the level of service their customers have come to expect.  “We all work together, helping each other do our best on a daily basis,” he said.

The idea of “working together” carries over into the relationship that Pat and his team members like to develop with all Hinkle Block & Masonry customers.  “Someone who is building a home is a good example,” Pat said.  “We try to get to know them and understand their needs and their preferences.  We don’t just sell our product and then walk away.  We want to make sure our customers get to realize their vision, whatever it is.  We’re not happy unless our customers are happy.”

When asked if there was one thing Pat wants potential and current customers to know about Hinkle Block & Masonry he said: “We’re here to help–we aren’t just after the sale.  Our goal is to provide our customers with a quality product at a fair price, and to build a relationship that will last long after the sale.  When our customers keep coming back time after time, we know we’ve done something right and that’s very rewarding.”

Pat, who has worked for Hinkle Block & Masonry since 2003, is now based at our Somerset facility—and loving it.  “I moved to Somerset last August and my wife Tarina and I are currently looking for a home or property in the Somerset area that we will both eventually call home. I’m excited to be in a new market and to meet new people.  I’m also impressed by the natural beauty of this area,” he said.  “I love to be outside, and this is a perfect place for outdoor activities.  That–combined with the beautiful lake, the great team at work and all our awesome customers, this a wonderful place to be.”
